Spirit of Honor The spirit of honor refers to a spirit in which we should strive to be fair, resolute, and be willing to sacrifice our lives for a righteous cause. Faith is a very important virtue in conducting daily life. The first character in the word "faith" means truth while the second character means righteousness. Therefore, faith consisting of truth and righteousness is the promise binding persons together and at the same time, is the foundation of the social life of human beings. Then what about our society today? Our society is now going through fierce confrontations and conflicts in every walk of life, but is lacking common norms and morals that can dissolve such confrontations and conflicts, and therefore has fallen into serious confusion. With materialism, greed, and hedonism so rampant across our country, our unique established social morals and customs have been loosing ground and our society has been increasingly filled with crime and disorder. However, our ancestors were fair and never compromised with injustice, nor did they ever cause any harm or damage to others while keeping their righteous principles. It is now believed that the reason why our society has not actualized the righteous society is because we do not behave righteously but instead, try to attribute such non-action to others.. We should inherit the spirit of integrity and honor of our ancestors, and should learn to trust each other, know our place in society, and behave righteously.
