Meaning of Loyalty
When speaking of 'loyalty,' we generally understand that 'loyalty' means being loyal to the state, but the original meaning of 'loyalty' means doing our best for ourselves.
An attitude wherein we do our best in everything we undertake should
be our goal. Doing everything poorly or doing something with great reluctance could not be called being loyal. Loyalty is a mindset that should stay constant, regardless of place or time.
It is 'loyalty' to devote ourselves to our country, our people, and our neighbors, and to fulfill all duties assigned to us.

Meaning of Filial Piety
Filial Duty is a tradition our people have observed since ancient times and calls for us to serve our parents with our utmost efforts during their lifetime, to always remember their benevolence, and to perform our duties as their children even after their death.
The thought of 'filial piety' calls for us to serve our parents appropriately and respect seniors. From there, it develops into love for our neighbors, service for our community, and eventually into loyalty to our people and our nation.
This is why our ancestors used to teach their children that practicing 'filial piety' towards their parents was one way of being loyal to their country. Filial piety was the basis of everything in their lives. Even these days the spirit of 'filial piety' active in our minds is not substantially different from that of the past. Filial piety is not anything grandiose but something near to us. It calls for us to be a bit more attentive and considerate to our parents while we live together with them. After all, they are the most important people in the world to us.
